I had the pleasure of getting @jessadams.95 ready for not only her wedding a couple of weeks ago, but a few events leading up to her wedding as well. These jobs snowballed from one referral from another H&MU superstar in the industry who killed it on hair, Kym from @kyzo.bride

I have been inundated with social media guru reels lately and the common themes are always to add value to your content, post at the right time, post everyday or multiple times a day, have a call to action etc. etc. etc. and I personally just don’t excel in this area.

I have always had a love/hate relationship with creating content. I know its important for my business. However I find it difficult taking photos and videos of my clients for multiple reasons. I am also super critical of my own work and even when I love my makeup, there is so much pressure to capture it in the right way. I’m sure it’s a me problem, but maybe you feel the same way too.

This year I really wanted to work on posting more, even when I think its not “perfect” (whatever that means) and to be honest I haven’t been doing the best job 😂. It’s something that’s always in the back of my mind, to put myself out there and share my work, but it’s overwhelming.

So instead of providing value or education or something relatable. Here’s a reel, of me, just doing makeup 😂

It’s been a while since I threw a strip lash look onto the feed. I have been gravitating more towards individuals and half lashes these days. This allows me to customise lashes for each clients eye shape.

The gorgeous @halle_b_1 had a lash lift during this appointment and individuals were just not possible. Using a strip lash on a lash lift helps to weigh the lift down and create a more seamless blend between the two.

Pro Tip: cut the strip lash is half to have more control over placing the false lash on top of a lift. This also avoids excess glue getting on the client natural lashes or sections of the strip sticking in an unwanted position while you’re trying to secure each section to the lash line.

When I first studied makeup I was never interested in bridal makeup. In fact I’m pretty sure I said “I will never be a bridal makeup artist” 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I honestly don’t even remember why!! 10 years + later & bridal is a huge part of my business 🖤

I don’t post much bridal work here because it never got much engagement tbh and I didn’t think people were really interested in it. This also meant that people didn’t even think I did bridal makeup which makes sense when I looked at it from a client perspective.
